Clinical Student Programs

 

Our goal is to provide the student with a meaningful pediatric experience, while maintaining safe and excellent patient care. The information below has been developed for Students and Instructors/Administrators. Please review the content that best meets your needs. Our Contact Information is at the bottom of the page.

"I am a Student..."

In order to complete a student rotation at Children’s Hospital, various requirements must be met including orientation to our facility, confidentiality agreements, and an orientation to the electronic medical record and documentation. Please complete the following activities below and return completed forms to your instructor.

San Joaquin Valley Nursing Education Consortium

Children’s Hospital is a member of the San Joaquin Valley Nursing Education Consortium which coordinates a clinical placement process for both nursing service providers (agencies) and nursing programs. See the information below if you are a member of one of the following Nursing programs:

  • California State University, Fresno
  • Clovis Adult School
  • College of the Sequoias
  • Dinuba Adult School
  • Fresno Adult School
  • Fresno City College
  • Madera Center
  • Merced College
  • National University
  • Other Clinical Programs
  • Porterville College
  • Reedley College
  • San Joaquin Valley College
  • Tulare Adult School
  • University of Phoenix, Fresno
  • Visalia Adult School
  • West Hills College

Please follow these steps in order to process your student’s rotations:

  • Enter the rotation request in the consortium site
  • See Unit Availability
  • Once request is approved, submit the Badge Request Form (Save to your desktop) electronically at least 3 weeks prior to the rotation to ClinicalStudentPrograms@childrenscentralcal.org
  • Complete and send electronically the Clinical Screening Requirements Form (Save to your desktop) for the students of your rotation. It is not necessary to send copies of the required documents.
  • Collect the following forms (available above under, “I am a Student”) from each student:
    • FOG Post Test
    • FOG Acknowledgement From
    • Electronic Documentation Education Acknowledgment Form (Nursing Only)
    • Confidentiality Form
    • Preceptorship students (School instructor not on Children’s Hospital campus) must also complete the Clinical Experience information Sheet
  • At least two weeks prior to the rotation, submit these forms with the Student Documentation Form (cover sheet), marking off each student’s completion of the forms, to either:
  • Conference Room Request Form (Save to your desktop) may be submitted if you would like to request post conference rooms.

Other School Instructors/Administrators

Several other Valley nursing programs, as well as various interdisciplinary programs, also enjoy clinical experiences at Children’s Hospital. Review the information below if your program is not a member of  the SJV Nursing Consortium or if your program is not nursing related.
