Neurosurgeons at Children’s Hospital Central California use cutting-edge technology when it comes to treating children. The OPMI Pentero Surgical Microscope is a revolutionary device that offers high-quality optics, magnification and illumination. It can automatically coordinate the focus, light and movement of the microscope during surgery. The OPMI Pentero provides heads-up display capability and can be moved using a mouthpiece, meaning hands do not leave the surgical field each time the scope needs to be adjusted, which can be every few minutes during surgery. In addition, its high-speed laser and robotic movements allow for fine and precise adjustment during surgery.
The purchase of the OPMI Pentero microscope was made possible by a $281,153 grant from the HEDCO Foundation.
