The Greatest Show on Earth wowed the patients at Children’s Hospital Central California with its special kind of magic.
Magical Zingmaster Alex Ramon and clowns Larry Clark, Jr., and Julio Ramazini gave a thrilled-filled performance for patients, parents and staff in the Hospital’s donor recognition area. They juggled rings, balls and even chickens garnering “oohs” and “ahs” from the jubilant crowd.
“We love it,” Clark said. “The kids like to laugh and it is good for everybody.”
The theme of the 139th edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus is Zing Zang Zoom merging magic with traditional circus arts. In addition to the clowns’ antics, Ramon did tricks with the help of a few patients. He made coins magically appear from thin air and ropes disappear. The stars were happy to come to the Hospital during the show’s stop in Fresno.
“These kids may not have a chance to come see the big show so it’s important to bring the show to them,” Ramon said.
Following the performance, patients had a chance to mix, mingle and take pictures with the entertainers. Ramon, Clark and Ramazini also went room to room to bring the fun to children who were unable to leave their rooms.
“This visit will be the highlight of the day for many of our patients,” said Child Life Specialist Marian Facciani. “It’s always a special treat to have the clowns come to the Hospital.”
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus perform at Selland Arena July 1 through 5.
