Jim Miller joined Children’s Hospital Central California as vice president, philanthropy and chief development officer. In his role, he leads the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Guilds of Children’s Hospital.
With over 30 years’ experience in his field, Jim came to Children’s from Children’s Hospital and Health System Foundation in Milwaukee, Wis., where he served as president and chief executive officer.
His previous positions include executive vice president and chief executive officer, St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation; executive director, ministries support, Lutheran Church – International; and president, Wyman Foundation, all in St. Louis, Mo.
Over the years, Jim has successfully honed his fundraising skills. From his early days as a school principal and athletic director, to his more recent roles, he has helped raise over $450 million. Now bringing his expertise in philanthropy and development to our team, Jim’s goal is to help Children’s Hospital Central California – one of the 10 largest children’s hospitals in the country – develop a philanthropic program that also ranks among the largest in the country.
Jim received his bachelor’s of science degree in education at Concordia University in Seward, Neb. He is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and a CFRE instructor. He is also a graduate of the American Management Institute, and the National School of Fund Raising.
Jim and his wife, Sheryl, have two grown children. They are pleased to be part of the Children’s Hospital family and the greater Fresno community.
