Construction continues as Children’s Hospital Central California expands its neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Saint Agnes Medical Center to a community Level III NICU.
“We believe we’re on track to occupy the new unit before the end of October,” said Jessie Hudgins, vice president, facilities and support services, Children’s Hospital. “We will open with eight licensed beds.”
With the scheduled opening about two months away, construction is now focused on finish treatments. “Time and energy is being spent ordering the equipment and furniture for the new unit,” said Hudgins. “With lead times for delivery as long as to six to eight weeks, we’re actively processing orders to ensure timely installation.”
