Board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and fellowship trained, Dr. Shailesh Shah joined Children’s Hospital Central California in January 2011 as a pediatric anesthesiologist. His areas of special interest include anesthesia for pediatric outpatient surgeries and anesthesia for autistic patients.
Dr. Shah comes to Children’s Hospital from Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ark., where he served since 2004 as an assistant professor and later as an associate professor in pediatric anesthesiology.
Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from Shivaji University, India. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his anesthesiology residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
Dr. Shah is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society, Operation Smile, Rotaplast International and Interplast. An avid volunteer, Dr. Shah has participated in a number of medical missions that provide free reconstructive surgery for children with congenital deformities and adult burn patients in India.
