Dr. Steven Foster joined Children’s as a pediatric hospitalist in July 2005. Dr. Foster is associate medical director of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program.
Board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, he belongs to multiple professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Foster has given lectures and presentations to residents and medical students and is the associate program director of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Foster is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. An active member of Children’s medical staff, Dr. Foster serves on several Hospital committees including the Medical Executive Committee, Education Committee, the Emergency Medical Response Team, and the National Patient Safety Goal 3D: Medication Labeling Committee.
After graduating from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, Calif., Dr. Foster completed a pediatric residency at the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, where he served as chief resident. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
