Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Paulina Mariki joined Children’s Hospital Central California in August 2012. She is the interim medical director of pediatric infectious diseases.
Dr. Mariki has presented nationally on topics in her field, including ventilator associated pneumonia, congenital toxoplasmosis and disseminated mycobacterium.
Dr. Mariki is a member of several professional organizations, including the Infectious Disease Society of America and Pediatric Infectious Disease Society. She is also a member of Specialty Medical Group. She is chair of the Infection Prevention Subcommittee at Children’s Hospital, and is an assistant professor of pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco-Fresno.
Dr. Mariki received her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Penn. She did her family practice internship at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va. She did her pediatric internship and residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. Dr. Mariki completed her pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center/Food Drug and Administration in Washington, D.C.
