An expert in anesthesiology, Dr. Margaret Van Wyk has expertise in all phases of anesthetic care delivery. She speaks English, Afrikaans and German. Prior to joining Children’s medical team, Dr. Van Wyk was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

A graduate from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, Dr. Van Wyk completed her residency in the Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Van Wyk is fellowship trained in pediatric anesthesiology by Children’s Hospital Boston.

During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, knitting and experimenting with raw food. She has a special interest in nature preservation. Dr. Van Wyk has been involved in raising money to help towards the funding of medical services for needy areas like Ruanda.
