Board certified in pediatric emergency medicine and pediatrics, Dr. Maya Heinert joined Children’s Hospital in January 2004. Dr. Heinert is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has more than 15 years’ experience in pediatric emergency medicine. Prior to joining Children’s, she was an associate physician in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care and in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine, at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
Dr. Heinert served in an administrative capacity as Director of Performance Improvement for Pediatric Emergency Services at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev., and assistant interim director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. She was also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine at University Medical Center, University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
Dr. Heinert received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich. She completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the Detroit Medical Center/Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
