An expert in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and a physician leader, Dr. Lawrence Satkowiak is Medical Director of Emergency Medicine. He has years of experience in pediatric emergency medicine and has served in an administrative capacity. Prior to joining Children’s, Dr. Satkowiak served as Vice-Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Director of Pediatric Emergency Services at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas.
Dr. Satkowiak is board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. He has spoken at several national conferences on Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Risk Management. He has appeared on the television shows "Rescue 911," "20/20," and The Learning Channel's "Trauma Life in the ER."
Graduating from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Satkowiak completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. He completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
He values family and spends free time traveling and golfing with his wife and their two children.
