Board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric pulmonary medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. John Moua joined Children’s Hospital Central California as a pediatric pulmonologist in August 2012. His areas of special interest include cystic fibrosis, infant pulmonary function testing, and asthma.
Originally from the Central Valley, Dr. Moua earned his medical degree from University of California, Davis. He did his internship and pediatric residency at University of California, San Francisco-Fresno. He completed his pediatric pulmonary fellowship at University of California, Irvine at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.
Dr. Moua has published his work in peer-reviewed publications, including “Pediatric Critical Care Medicine” and “Pediatric Pulmonology.” He has also presented at national and international conferences on various topics in his field, such as pediatric pulmonary coccidioidomycosis and the use of beta-blocker for cystic fibrosis patients with hemoptysis.
Dr. Moua is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, American Thoracic Society, and California Thoracic Society.
Dr. Moua is fluent in Hmong.
