Dr. Jennifer McDermott joined Children’s Hospital Central California as a pediatric hospitalist in July 2011.

Recently completing her postgraduate education and training, Dr. McDermott received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She did her internship and residency at University of California, San Francisco – Fresno Pediatric Residency Program in Fresno, Calif. She is board eligible.

Dr. McDermott was selected to present on a project she served as the main investigator at the 2011 Western Society of Pediatric Research Conference held in Carmel, Calif. The project focused on the disparity in health literacy between English and Spanish speaking parents of hospitalized patients.

Dr. McDermott is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the California Medical Association/Fresno-Madera Medical Society.

She can read, write and speak Spanish for basic communication.
