With nearly 20 years of medical experience, Dr. James Horspool serves as medical director of the Charlie Mitchell Children's Clinic. He is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Horspool has practiced at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland, National Navel Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Naval Medical Center San Diego, Kaiser Permanente of Southern California in San Diego, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base and Naval Hospital Lemoore. He has served as assistant professor of pediatrics at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland and assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at University of California, San Diego. Dr. Horspool is fluent in Spanish.
After graduating from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. James Horspool completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. He completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Horspool is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Inc.
