Dr. John Ching joined Children’s Hospital in October 2012 as a pediatric endocrinologist. He is board certified in pediatrics and board qualified in pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. His areas of interest include juvenile diabetes.
Dr. Ching comes to us from Tarzana, Calif., where he worked as a pediatric endocrinologist at the Tarzana Pediatric Medical Group since 2008.
In addition to joining Children’s Hospital, Dr. Ching has his own private clinic in Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo.
Dr. Ching received his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He did his pediatric residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he also earned the Distinguished Pediatric Research Award 2004. Dr. Ching completed his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at University of California, Los Angeles – Mattel Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ching has published his work in peer-reviewed publications such as “Pituitary” and has presented across the country on topics in his field.
Dr. Ching is a member of several professional societies, including The Endocrine Society, Lawson Wilkens Pediatric Endocrine Society, and the California Medical Association.
Dr. Ching is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin). In his free time, he enjoys basketball and relaxing at the beach.
