Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Jacob Bettesworth joined Children’s Hospital Central California in August 2012 as a pediatric anesthesiologist.
Dr. Bettesworth has presented on topics in his field and has published in several peer-reviewed publications, including “Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia” and “Journal of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists.”
He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia.
Dr. Bettesworth earned his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Mo. He completed his transitional medicine internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital; his anesthesiology residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center; and his pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, all in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Bettesworth’s volunteer service over the years includes providing anesthesia for underserved pediatric patients in the Dominican Republic; helping facilitate events at the Special Olympics in Kansas City, Mo.; and assisting at Camp Ukandu, a pediatric cancer camp in Portland, Ore.
In his free time, Dr. Bettesworth also enjoys photography and triathlon running.
