Born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif., Dr. Laningham’s expertise is in magnetic resonance imaging, oncology, and neuroimaging. Dr. Laningham returned to the Central Valley with his wife and three children to join Wishon Radiology Medical Group and Children’s Hospital Central California after working at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. 

Board certified in diagnostic radiology with subspecialty certification in pediatric radiology by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Laningham is a member of several professional societies including the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), Children’s Oncology Group (COG), American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR), and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). He has also worked within the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC). 

His work has been published in several professional journals and he has presented results at annual meetings of the SPR and ASNR. Dr. Laningham’s experience also includes military service as a Commander in the United States Navy. He was a pediatric intern at Naval Hospital San Diego and a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon stationed in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Laningham played baseball while earning his bachelor’s degree at Stanford University. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in radiology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and spent two years as a fellow in pediatric radiology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
