Board certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Esequiel Rodriguez, Jr., MD, joined Children’s Hospital in August 2012 as a pediatric urologist. His areas of special interest include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, kidney stones, spina bifida and complex genitourinary reconstruction.

Previously, Dr. Rodriguez worked as an attending urologist at Sutter North Medical Group in Yuba City, Calif., and as an assistant clinical professor of adult and pediatric urology at the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Rodriguez has published in several peer-reviewed publications, including “Urology,” “Journal of Urology,” “Journal of Robotic Surgery,”  “British Journal of Urology,” “Advances in Urology” and “Journal of Endourology.” He also coauthored a book chapter in the textbook “Robotic Urology.”

Dr. Rodriguez is a member of several professional societies, including the American Urological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Pediatric Urology. He is a member of Specialty Medical Group.

Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. He completed his urology residency and a fellowship in robotic surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He did a pediatric urology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish.
