A pediatric otolaryngologist, Dr. Angela Martin joined Children’s Hospital in October 2009. Board certified in pediatric otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Dr. Martin came to Children’s from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque where she was an assistant professor in the Division of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Martin is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association. Her work has been published in “The Laryngoscope,” “Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery,” and “Current Infectious Disease Reports.” She authored a chapter on auditory neuropathy, sarcoidosis, siderosis and idiopathic pachymeningitis in the second edition of “Neurotology.”
Dr. Martin has given presentations at professional conferences and lectures on topics in pediatric otolaryngology. Active in the community, she traveled to Cuenca, Ecuador, to provide cleft lip and palate repair and volunteered at the Juvenile Delinquent Tattoo Removal Clinic in the Department of Plastic Surgery at San Bernardino County Hospital in California.
Dr. Martin earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed an internship in general surgery and residency in otorhinolaryngology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She did her fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital and the University of Minnesota.
