Board certified in general and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Adam Gorra joined Children’s Hospital Central California in August 2011 as
a pediatric surgeon. His areas of special interest include neonatal surgery, congenital anomalies, pediatric trauma, minimal-access surgery, and long-term surgical outcomes.
Dr. Gorra has published in several peer-reviewed publications, such as “Journal of Pediatric Surgery,” “Archives of Surgery” and “World Journal of Surgery.” He has also presented on a broad range of topics across the country, including long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with gastroschisis, contemporary management of severe acute pancreatitis, and the utility of CT in the setting of mild traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Gorra earned his medical degree from University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Conn. He did his general surgery residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. He also completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Dr. Gorra is a member of Specialty Medical Group.
Originally from New England, Dr. Gorra enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children, serving as a volunteer coach with the local youth ice hockey league, and playing ice hockey and golf.
