UPDATE: Tours of Children's Hospital are currently on hold. Visitor restrictions are in place due to an increase of flu and RSV. Please check back in April 2010 for updates about the availability of our tour program. The information below will help answer your questions when our program is operational again.

Touring Children’s

At Children's Hospital Central California, we are happy
to give tours of our hospital campus to community groups. We offer two types of tours, school tours and group tours. Please take a few moments to explore this page to learn which tour bests meets the needs of your group.

School Tours

Participation
We limit school tours to groups in kindergarten through sixth grade. Tours may have a MAXIMUM of 30 students per group. Children's Hospital requires one adult chaperone for every six students.

Availability
Tuesdays and Thursdays ONLY.
9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
April through October ONLY

Group Tours

Participation
We limit group tours to individuals age 13 years and up. Tours may have a MAXIMUM of 30 participants.

Availability
Monday through Friday.
9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tour Cost

There is no fee to tour our hospital but donations are always welcomed. Lunch is available at a cost of $3.50 plus tax per student for school tours and $4.50 plus tax per person for group tours.

Tour Guidelines

Tours are led by trained volunteer tour guides and last approximately 90 minutes.

Please arrive approximately five minutes prior to your tour time. This allows for bathroom breaks and group organization prior to the start of the tour.

Please notify us if you are running late. A late arrival may result in a shortened tour due to the number of other groups scheduled to tour the Hospital.

Upon arriving and before unloading the buses, the tour contact must check in at the Main Information Center with an accurate number of participants, including students, nurses, and other chaperones. A volunteer tour guide will assist in organizing the groups and getting the tour started.

Due to patient privacy regulations, flash photography and video recording will not be permitted in patient care areas.

How to Schedule?

  • Once tours are operational again, you will complete a tour request form in full and submit it at least three weeks in advance for schedule consideration. A link to the form will be available at this location once tours are open again.
  • You will receive confirmation within 72 hours of submission.
  • Submission of a tour request does not guarantee a tour.
