William F. Haug
President & Chief Executive Officer
William Haug began his professional career serving in various administrative capacities with the AT&SF Memorial Hospital in Topeka, Kansas and Albuquerque, New Mexico, respectively. There, he provided administrative support for a pre-paid health care association, which supplied benefits for employees, retirees, and dependents of the Santa Fe Railroad.
In 1979, Mr. Haug was named chief operating officer/administrator for the Desert Hospital District in Palm Springs, California. In 1983 he assumed the position of executive vice president/chief operating officer for California Medical Center (CMCLA) in Los Angeles. CMCLA was a member of the Lutheran Hospital Society of Southern California, which later merged with Health West to become UniHealth America. Mr. Haug assumed the role of president and chief executive officer of CMCLA in 1986.
In 1988, he became the president and chief executive officer of the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF) in Los Angeles. MPTF is a not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive health care services, including childcare, elder care, and wellness programs to a defined membership, exceeding 500,000 people, located in the greater Los Angeles area. He served as president and CEO for 11 years, during which time the organization grew dramatically in both the depth and breadth of healthcare services offered to a rapidly expanding entertainment industry population.
In March 2000, Mr. Haug was selected as president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital Central California.
Mr. Haug is originally from the Midwest where he completed his undergraduate and graduate work in Business/Health Services Administration. He has continued to be active in professional associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the California Healthcare Association, Children’s Healthcare Association, and a variety of Boards serving the community at large. Mr. Haug is a Fellow in the ACHE.
