Mark Zielazinski
Vice President & Chief Information Officer
Mark A. Zielazinski is Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). He oversees the Information Technology Services and Health Information Management department and is responsible for the development of strategies and initiatives to fully integrate clinical technologies into a comprehensive electronic medical record.
Mark has more than 25 years of healthcare information technology experience. Most recently, he worked at a Silicon Valley healthcare start-up called Sensitron, leading the development of software to manage and connect vital signs monitoring equipment to electronic charting tools. Prior to that, Mark was CIO at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, where he led the selection and implementation efforts for a new ERP system and CPOE tools. El Camino was nominated a “Most Wired” hospital 4 of the last 5 years and Mark was chosen as one of the top 10 “IT Healthcare Innovators” in 2004 by Healthcare Informatics. He has served as CIO at Columbus-Cabrini Medical Centers in Chicago and Holmes Regional Medical Center in Florida and he was a senior executive at Superior Consultants and DAOU Systems.
Mark has a BS degree in political science from Illinois State University. He is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
